Referral Program Terms
These terms govern the M5wallet referral program, which M5dex DAO LLC runs for M5wallet. They set out who can take part, how referral codes and linked wallets work, which swaps count, and which rewards are paid, when and how. By inviting friends or linking a wallet to a referral code, you accept these terms.
This document was drafted in good faith for a self-custodial wallet and follows common practice in this sector. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
M5wallet is published by M5dex DAO LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States.
The English version of this document is the authoritative one. Translations are provided for convenience; if they conflict, the English text governs.
Eligibility
To invite friends, you must be signed in with an M5wallet ID. Anyone may link a wallet to a referral code, with or without an M5wallet ID. Everyone who takes part must meet the eligibility requirements of the Terms of Service, including being at least 18 years old, and may not take part where the program, or receiving its rewards, is unlawful for them. We may refuse or end the participation of anyone who breaks these terms.
Referral codes and links
Each inviter receives a referral code of 8 characters and a referral link made of https://app.m5wallet.com/r/ followed by the code. An inviter can hold up to 10 codes, including the first one, and add a note to each. Each code can be renamed once, to a new code of 3 to 15 letters or numbers that is not already in use; the previous code keeps working in links that were already shared, and wallets linked to it stay linked. We may refuse or withdraw a code that is misleading or offensive, or that imitates M5wallet or another brand.
Linking a wallet
A wallet is linked to a code when it signs a message that we issue for that purpose, during wallet setup, from a referral link or later from the wallet's menu. Signing is free, is not a transaction and moves no funds. A wallet can be linked within 14 days after it is first set up in M5wallet. A wallet set up before the program started, at 00:00 UTC on 16 September 2026, is treated as set up at that moment, so it can be linked until 00:00 UTC on 30 September 2026. A wallet can be linked only once, and a link cannot be changed or removed. The linked address is the address of the wallet's first EVM (Ethereum) account, which is the same on every EVM network. Seed phrase wallets, Google sign-in wallets and supported hardware wallets can be linked; other wallets, including hardware wallets running Bitcoin-only firmware, cannot currently be linked. You may not link a wallet to your own code.
Qualifying swaps and referrals
A swap or bridge counts towards the program only if it was made in the M5wallet app and built by M5wallet's swap service, was sent on an EVM network from the linked address after the wallet was linked, and was confirmed as successful on the blockchain. Swaps made before linking, swaps from other accounts in the same wallet, swaps sent from Solana, Bitcoin or other non-EVM networks, limit orders, and swaps made through other applications do not count. A referral qualifies when the linked wallet's first counted swap is worth at least US$10, valued in US dollars at the time of the swap. Hardware purchases, Earn, Perps and any other activity earn no rewards.
Rewards
For each qualifying referral, the inviter earns a referral reward of 100 M5L. Only one referral reward is paid per linked wallet, and an inviter can earn at most 1,000 referral rewards in a calendar month; a swap made after that limit is reached earns no referral reward, but a later qualifying swap from the same wallet in a month below the limit does. M5wallet charges a service fee of 0.3% on swaps and bridges. On each counted swap that carries this fee, the inviter earns a commission of 10%, 15%, 18% or 20% of the fee, according to the inviter's level, and the owner of the linked wallet receives a rebate of 10% of the fee. Some routes carry no M5wallet fee, and swaps on those routes earn no commission or rebate. For example, a US$1,000 swap pays a US$3 fee, of which a Bronze inviter earns US$0.30 and the friend receives US$0.30. Commissions and rebates are paid in USDC (BEP-20) on BNB Chain.
Levels
Inviters start at Bronze (10%). They reach Silver (15%) with 10 qualified friends or US$50,000 of friends' swap volume in a calendar month, Gold (18%) with 50 qualified friends or US$200,000, and Diamond (20%) with 200 qualified friends or US$1,000,000. Qualified friends are the friends whose referral reward was earned in that month, and friends' swap volume is the total US dollar value of the counted swaps made that month from the wallets linked to the inviter's codes. A higher level applies as soon as either threshold is reached. Levels are reviewed on the 10th of each month for the previous month, and an inviter who misses the requirement of their level in two consecutive months drops one level.
Calculation and records
Rewards are calculated from M5wallet's records, which include the linked wallets, the swaps built by M5wallet's swap service and what the blockchain confirms about those swaps. A swap's US dollar value and fee are those recorded when the swap was built, and a swap that could not be valued in US dollars earns no reward. Commissions and rebates are calculated from the fee that each swap actually carried, at the inviter's level when the swap is credited, and are rounded down to six decimal places; USDC is counted at US$1. Days and calendar months are measured in UTC. M5wallet's records decide whether a referral or a swap counts and the amount of any reward, except in the case of manifest error.
Waiting period and payouts
Each reward waits 30 days after it is credited before it becomes available. On the 1st of each month we prepare a payout of the rewards available at that time, and M5dex DAO LLC sends it manually on BNB Chain by the 10th of that month. An inviter's M5L and USDC are sent to the receiving address the inviter sets in the app, which must be a BNB Chain address the inviter controls, confirmed with a one-time code sent to the email address of the inviter's M5wallet ID, and not an exchange deposit address; until one is set, the inviter's rewards wait. Rebates are sent to the linked wallet's address on BNB Chain. A USDC balance of less than US$1 for an address is carried over to the next month. We are not responsible for rewards sent to an address that was set or linked and that you cannot access. You are responsible for any taxes on the rewards you receive, and for reporting them.
Prohibited conduct
You must not: refer yourself, including by linking wallets you control to your own code; create or control multiple wallets or M5wallet IDs, or have others do so for you, to collect rewards; make wash swaps or other swaps whose main purpose is to generate rewards or volume; send spam or unsolicited messages containing a code or link; promote the program in a misleading way, for example by promising returns or misstating the rewards or the value of M5L; present yourself as M5wallet or as acting for M5wallet, or use M5wallet's name or logo in a way that suggests so; or bid on M5wallet's name or other brand terms in search or social media advertising.
Review, holds and cancellation
We may hold rewards for manual review before they are paid, and do so in particular when a wallet was linked from the inviter's own device or network, or when an inviter gains more than 20 qualified friends within 24 hours. Held rewards are not paid while the review continues. If we reasonably conclude that rewards arose from a breach of these terms, including self-referral, fake wallets, multiple wallets controlled by one person or wash swaps, we may cancel those rewards and any unpaid rewards of the persons involved, and exclude them from the program. Cancelled rewards are not paid.
M5L value disclaimer
M5L is a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain. Any US dollar value the app shows for M5L, currently US$0.10, is a reference price configured by M5wallet, not a market price. M5L is not listed on any exchange, and there may be no market for it. We give no guarantee that M5L has or will have any value, that it will be listed, or that it will have any liquidity, and M5L rewards give no right to be paid their reference value in money.
Changes to the program and ending it
We may change these terms or any part of the program, including reward amounts and levels, or end the program, by publishing a notice on this website. A change applies from the date given in the notice. Rewards earned from swaps confirmed before a change takes effect, or before the program ends, are still paid under the terms that applied when they were earned, unless they are cancelled for a breach of those terms.
Relationship to the Terms of Service
These terms add to the M5wallet Terms of Service, which also apply to the program; if the two conflict on a matter concerning the program, these terms prevail. Like the Terms of Service, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, and disputes are handled as the Terms of Service provide. M5wallet's backend keeps the program's records, and M5dex DAO LLC sends the payouts. The Privacy Policy explains how data is used for the program.
